MLW RS18u Project
Custom Trains has completed discussions with Kaslo Shops to produce a resin shell kit of the MLW RS18u
that were remanufactured when Canadian Pacific rebuilt his fleet of high nose RS18s. Today, these
locomotives are still in use on the Ottawa Central, New Brunswick East Coast, Ontario Southland, Minnesota
Commercial and many other small regionals railways
The kits will featured the same high quality level brought by Kaslo in all their previous kit and will include:
One piece basic body designed to fit on the Atlas RS11, RS32 or LL/Hobbycraft RS11 drives.
Assorted cast resin details
All necessary etchings for steps, fans, grills, etc
Laser cut acetate material for windows
Text and instructions
The retail price will be $110.95

We have received the following e-mail from Kaslo shop that now peg the arrival in the next 4
weeks:
Good news! Your production run of RS18u’s has come in from Point 1 Models. I will begin
preliminary packaging. The only thing we are missing is the small etched detail fret for the
rear access door and the jacking pads. I have been in contact with Keith at Plano and he is
hopeful that he can get them into production asap.
